8 · Token Economics

XChain's token economics are not yet established — by design, not by omission. True to the principle that XChain is a public good owned by its community (Governance & Community), every economic parameter of the X coin — total supply, allocation, validator rewards, issuance schedule — will be established by community vote, through the project's open governance process. The vote is expected to complete on November 11, 2026; the outcome will be published in Status & Live Network once final.

Until then, the X coin exists on the testnet only as an operating unit for testing: the numbers currently running are demo/test parameters that make a test network work, and they will be replaced when the community vote completes. For that reason they are deliberately not recorded here as official tokenomics — the testnet's technical parameters live in The Testnet.

⚠️ These are testnet coins with no monetary value. There is no token sale, no mainnet, and no investment on offer. If XChain draws you, let it draw you by the mission and the code: right now there is nothing to buy — only something to build, and a vote to take part in.

Takeaway: the tokenomics are not decreed by a founding team — they are established by the community, like every other part of XChain. Running today's test network, meanwhile, is something anyone can do — the next section shows how.
